Earlier this year I heard the words everyone fears hearing. Cancer. With my heart heavy I was told surgery was my treatment option of choice. But with the harrowing tales of how African American women are treated in hospitals, especially regarding anything to do with their reproductive organs, I knew I had to find another option.
