We purchased our first modest family home in March 2025. It is an older home, built in 1916, but we are overjoyed to finally have a place to call our own. At the time, we had just gotten married, were raising our one-year-old daughter, and I was pregnant with our second child. Coming from a 600-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment in Manhattan, New York, owning a home felt like a dream come true. We are grateful to have a space where our family could grow and create lasting memories. Unfortunately, as first-time homeowners, we didn't fully understand the many challenges and unexpected expenses that can come with owning an older home. After living here for the past year, we've discovered that our house requires significant repairs and renovations to make it safe for our young children. We are humbly asking for any assistance that can help us make the necessary improvements to provide our children with a safe and secure home.
